
Child Care/Parenting
In the first semester, the factors that affect human growth and development will be emphasizedstarting with conception. Students will explore stages of fetal development, healthy pre-natalcare, and decision making for parenting the young child. Teen pregnancy will also be discussed.In the second semester, the factors that affect human growth and development for toddlersthrough early childhood will be emphasized. Physical, emotional, social, and intellectualdevelopment will be explored, as well as career paths in early childhood education andservices. Students will also plan a preschool day.
